Are Men From Mars and Women From Venus?

FriMay18CI.jpgIN YOUR DAILY DOSE: you’ll discover that gender differences  - whether in animal or human - are regulated by hormones in your brain that you cannot control.

MAKING CHANGES: No changes today! Just a few hints to help your current relationships.

FACT OR FICTION: You’ve heard that fish have to move in order to breathe. The idea is that water flows in the mouth and out through the gills, extracting oxygen from the water along the way. However, there is one fish that doesn’t move when it’s cold and doesn’t need to move to breathe.

In The News

Genetic differences between male and females originate from hormonal differences and brain receptors. Many of the different behaviors often attributed to men and women are regulated by these hormones and their receptors, often ending in a conflict of interest that has more to do with how the different sexes think about a situation, rather than the ultimate outcome they want to achieve.

Understanding that there are differences may make it just a little easier to understand why guys step over the same sock on the floor every day and women appear to be angry for longer periods of time than seem reasonable. A little understanding and compromise goes a long way.

Fact or Fiction?

You’ve heard that fish have to move in order to breathe. The idea is that water flows in the mouth and out through the gills, extracting oxygen from the water along the way. However, there is one fish that doesn’t move when it’s cold and doesn’t need to move to breathe.

Most sharks must be in constant motion to move water past their gills and absorb oxygen from the water. There is one type of shark that doesn’t have to move. The Nurse shark can sit on the ocean floor without movement and continue to breath. They have a limited diet and don’t really move around in the cold months. Very different from most other sharks!

Have a wonderful day!
