Broccoli Is a Powerful Veggie

ThursNov30CI.jpgIN YOUR DAILY DOSE: today is research that broccoli sprouts may help you manage a disease that a large number of people in the U.S. suffer from.

MAKING CHANGES: Including broccoli sprouts in your daily regimen is easy, simple and tasty.

FACT OR FICTION: Is there debris on Saturn? And what is it?

In The News

Diabetes has become a worldwide epidemic, likely related to an addiction to sugar. Euromonitor finds that people in the U.S. eat more sugar every day than people in any other country. In fact, the average American eats 126 grams of sugar (slightly more than in 2 - 12 ounce cans of Coke) each day. This is double the amount of sugar recommended by the World Health Organization and well over the amount of sugar your body actually requires.

The sad fact is that though food manufacturers would like you to continue to eat sugar as it is addictive and drives you back to eating their sugar laden processed foods, you don’t have any nutritional need for sugar in your diet.

Findings from this study have found taking a product of concentrated broccoli sprouts may help treat type-2 diabetes. However, using a “pill,” “medication,” or natural product to try to reverse a condition triggered by poor lifestyle choices is not what’s best for your overall health and your disease.

Daily Health Tip

The choices you make each day in the food you eat makes a difference in the diseases you experience.

Making Changes

It is difficult to make changes, especially when it involves an addiction that is a problem for more people than you can count. But, making those changes will make a huge difference in your health over your lifetime.

Giving up sugar will require willpower and may be challenging, but using some strategies, it can be done.

  1. Get at least 8 hours of quality rest each night.

  2. Practice stress reduction techniques you like - such as exercise, yoga, meditation or whatever works for you.

  3. Exercise for at least 30 minutes each day.

  4. Drink enough water that your urine is a light straw color.

  5. Take care of your gut microbiome to grow beneficial bacteria and improve your immune system.

  6. Support your mitochondrial function

  7. Pay attention to your cravings; move, move and move when you feel like having sugar. Movement will help reduce the craving and help you get past the addiction.

Daily Affirmation

I understand that my relationships with my cousins inevitably change over time. We grow and evolve every day, so it is natural for us to change. Regardless of the changes, I go with the flow and continue to maintain positive relationships.

Fact or Fiction?

A team of scientists recently claim that a mix of carbon and gravity from Saturn cause the debris to fall to the planet as diamonds. They believe they are around a centimeter in diameter, but might range in size depending upon the availability of carbon. There is a new study which estimates there are more than 1,000 TONS of diamonds created every YEAR. Scientists believe that the same thing might be happening on Jupiter as well.

Have a wonderful day!
