In The News

Research from the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital looked at safety concerns that have been raised about a drug after approval was received by the Federal Drug Administration. Researchers found that drugs that were approved 2001 and 2010 had one post market safety concern for every three drugs released to the public that lead to a withdrawal of the drug or a boxed warning about a safety concern.

Of the 222 novel therapeutics that were approved by the FDA during this time period, three were totally taken off the market, 61 received boxed warnings and another 59 had safety communications attached.

Daily Affirmation

Cells are the building blocks in my body, so it is crucial that they are healthy. They are fundamental for the health of my organs. My cells operate efficiently and communicate with each other. They share important information to avoid illness and stay healthy.
Strong cells keep my physical body fit and protect my DNA. They also give me energy to succeed and achieve my goals.

Fact or Fiction?

There is a small shark, called the Cookie Cutter Shark, whose bite appears to be just like a cookie cutter was placed against the prey.  If the fish is large enough, it may continue to live for a while, until infection sets in to the open wound. These little sharks don’t look anything like the Great White sharks we’ve come to associate with the shark world.

Have a wonderful day!
