Daily Health Tip

Loneliness is an emotional state in which you feel sad because a lack of company or a perception of not having real friends. Loneliness not only affects your perception of getting sick, but also your emotional state, immune system and appetite.

Making Changes

Before you can stop feeling lonely you must first determine if you are actually lonely - in other words, a true lack of friends or relationships - or if it’s your perception that you have no one in your life.

It is important to address this issue and not just let it ride. Seek help from a therapist, talking with a friend or the counsel of your pastor or priest. Feeling lonely for long periods of time can affect your mental and physical health and reduces your work performance.

And - no one like feeling sad!

Fact or Fiction?

Your body uses different cells to accomplish different tasks. Did you know that these particular types of cells outnumber your body cells?

The human body has more bacteria living on it and in it than there are cells in the body. In fact, the number 10 to 1 or for every 1 cell in the body there are 10 bacteria! Bacteria are responsible for the manufacture of some vitamins, for your mood, weight gain and loss, your immune system health and a myriad of other health issues. And, each time we take an antibiotic or eat meat filled with antibiotics, we throw off the delicate balance in our body. Scientists now call the digestive tract our most complex organ.

Have a wonderful day!
