Daily Health Tip

Gratitude improves your health - but when you express it to another person you also make their day.

Making Changes

Expressing gratitude and feeling grateful actually improves your health. Here are several strategies to help you get started.

  1. Keep a gratitude journal. Write in it at least twice a week and record things that happened that day for which you are grateful. They don’t need to be big things - the barista who was kind, the guy who held open the door or the police officer who didn’t write you a ticket.
  2. Make writing in your journal a habit by associating it with another activity - such as unfixing your bed, or shutting down your computer. If you choose to do it a couple days a week choose two consistent days so you remember - such as every Wednesday and Sunday or Tuesday and Saturday.
  3. Express your gratitude to someone to their face. Saying thank you to someone makes them feel good and improves your health.
  4. Write a letter to someone to whom you are grateful - even for something small. You may choose to not send it - but do write it.

Daily Affirmation

I practice forgiveness. Grudges are a burden that I want to throw away. I wish others well even when I feel disappointed by their behavior. My compassion extends to myself as well. I reassure myself that each mishap teaches me how to learn and grow.
Today, I celebrate my independence. I am the architect of my life.
Fact or Fiction?

With over 1 million different types that roam the Earth, 40% are the most biodiverse. Scientist think it might be so the species can survive disasters.  And, although they are everywhere, there is one continent where there is only one that lives!

There are over one million different species of insects that roam Earth. The beetle is the most biodiverse with over 350,000 different species, totalling approximately 40% of the insect species. And, although insects populate most continents on Earth there is one continent where only ONE species has managed to eek out an existence. The wingless midge is a tiny fly which lives in Antarctica. It can withstand freezing temperatures and is colored to absorb as much light for heat as possible.

Have a wonderful day!
