Daily Health Tip

You can reduce your risk of depression or reduce the symptoms you experience when you include aerobic exercise and meditation in your weekly routine.  Not only will these changes improve your mental health, but they will also improve your physical health.

Making Changes

Aerobic exercise is any type of activity that raises your heart rate and causes you to breathe faster.  Walking, jogging, rowing, running, tennis, biking and sex all qualify as aerobic activity.  In the study the participants experienced 30 minutes of aerobic activity with 30 minutes of meditation two times weekly.

Look for an aerobic activity you enjoy that you can continue to perform for 30 minutes. Alternate the activities you use so you don’t get bored. Sign up for a class about meditation or purchase a DVD that teaches you the basics. Meditate on the good things in your life or on God’s Word. Do not meditate on the negative problems in your life.
